Born in 1984, Ilgaz Özer began his undergraduate education at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry following his graduation from Üsküdar American High School in 2002. He successfully completed his undergraduate education in 2007 and earned the opportunity to work as a research assistant at the Department of Orthodontics at Yeditepe University.

Believing in the necessity of personal development and lifelong education for success in the profession, Ilgaz Özer completed his training in 2009. Subsequently, he earned a certification in Incognito (Lingual Orthodontics) and in 2010, he also obtained the DAMON certification. He is currently pursuing the 2-year FACE (Functional And Cosmetic Excellence) training provided by RWISO (Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontists).

Ilgaz Özer is a member of professional organizations like TOD (Turkish Orthodontic Society), AAO (American Association of Orthodontists), and WFO (World Federation of Orthodontists). His hobbies include winter sports, football, and motorsports. He has a special interest in cars and collects model cars.
