DİŞ BEYAZLATMA (BLEACHİNG)

Teeth Whitening (Bleaching) is the process of lightening the color of teeth that cannot be removed through regular teeth cleaning due to discoloration originating from the natural structure of the teeth.

In cases where the shape, structure, and alignment of teeth are ideal but the color is dark, causing aesthetic concerns, whitening can quickly achieve the desired aesthetic results.

When performed professionally by a dentist, teeth whitening is a safe procedure that does not harm the teeth. There are two main types of teeth whitening procedures commonly used today. One is home bleaching, where the individual applies the whitening treatment at home for a few nights. The other is office bleaching, which is performed in a dental clinic under the supervision of a dentist.

Office bleaching involves whitening treatments conducted within the dental office and under the dentist’s supervision. Depending on the patient, this process may involve 2 or 3 sessions.

Home bleaching involves taking upper and lower impressions of the patient’s teeth to create custom-made clear trays that cover all the teeth. The patient places the whitening gel provided by the dentist into these trays and wears them for a specific amount of time each day as directed by the dentist.

The best results are often achieved by combining both office and home bleaching methods. Temporary tooth sensitivity can occur with either method, depending on the individual.

Following teeth whitening, any necessary veneers or composite restorations should be performed after about 1 to 2 weeks when the tooth color stabilizes. This ensures better color match and stronger bonding of composite material to the tooth.
